Papago Dashboard Camera Review

Giveaway Contest: Dashboard Camera PAPAGO GS520

I recently got a PAPAGO GS520 dashboard camera to capture great video while driving. I love this little camera and I love the new opportunity for capturing unique beautiful video.

When I first took it out of the box I thought it was so light weight it must be cheap. But I quickly learned that it’s better to be light in weight because it hangs from the windshield. In the several times I’ve used it, it has dropped once and I was glad then it was not heavy. The camera is relatively small, cute and lightweight and can attach to your windshield, dashboard or even the side window to capture the scenery to the side as you’re driving by.

It’s made to run while driving so for longer video takes, it’s best to have it plugged into your cigarette lighter outlet in your vehicle. The cord is plenty long, depending on your vehicle it could be plugged in and capturing from several feet from the outlet. It starts up immediately when your ignition lights and is ready in seconds to start capturing video.

One of the most impressive aspects about it in my mind is that it captures up to 2K video resolution! That’s the size of many movie theater films. So if you wanted, you could watch your PAPAGO GS520 video on screens the size of those in theaters!

It’s understandable if you don’t expect to be watching your videos on bigger than life screens but 2k is also a cool option because it means you can zoom into your videos quite significantly. You might want to do that if you’re chasing storms or UFOs, are a private investigator, witnessed a hit-and-run and need to get a license plate, etc. These details would be less clear as you go down in resolution. However, 2K resolution will fill up your SD card fast so the PAPAGO GS520 dashboard camera offers several other smaller resolutions including both HDs: 1080p and 720p which will still give a beautiful resolution and take less of the space.

You’ll need a micro SD card for this dashboard camera and a microReader if you don’t have one already to be able to insert it into your computer to retrieve the files. With the new firmware update the GS520 can take up to a 64GB SD card, without it’ll take 8-32GB sized SD cards

This is the very type of camera that every RVer needs to capture their vacation memories and sights to always be able to look back on. Therefore I’m giving one away for free to the winner of this contest!
