On our trip to Rockport today we lost the front right tire on the trailer. Got the thing changed with some good luck :), Next time Pippi it is your turn :). What is the best jack to use when jacking up the trailer to change a wheel?

Otherwise the trip was great, getting better each time setting up the trailer and trimming down what we have in it for the trip and the length of time we plan to stay. Finding it is better to keep water in the back tanks on my truck thus far. I am keeping antifreeze in both tanks.

For lifting heavy equipment like trailers and RV’s, heavy duty hydraulic bottle jacks are the best. You’ll find them at any good hardware store. Make sure you have solid ground under them or a thick piece of wood before lifting, and read your owner’s manual to know where to apply lift pressure on the chassis. Also make sure you have a way to hold the rig in place when lifted before you work at or under it. Safety first!

Bottle jacks are great, make sure they are weighted for your rig. As far as trailers are concerned I could not tell you but for motor-homes I would say the best jack belongs to the roadside assistance company! Knock on wood we have not had any tire issues and we did over 10000 miles last year.

I think we could handle a change on the front tires but would hate to have to try and change one of the duals in the rear.

    Good Luck!
