Hello! We are very excited to start our journey. Our house burned in April, and it’s sold already. We’re renting month to month, but feel this is just throwing money away. (So was a 30 yr mortgage, but we didn’t know that at the time. Fortunately, our ins just paid that off.) We’ve acquired a 1 ton truck, and wanted to park with a trailer/5th wheel near DHs job, and once he gets his transfer, and we get our land, park on our land while building our home. We plan to go green and cheap.
Well, we’ve got many children, one due soon, and some evil person called CPS on us while our house was burning. This was a retaliation call that we’ve been anticipating actually, so of course, nothing was done. But, they haven’t closed the case either, as around here, everything takes weeks.
I’m wondering how ppl have done the RV life with children, and is CPS a threat? I’m calling it “our extended vacation” as that’s really what it is for now. We’re not leaving reg life until September 1st, as we have to fix up a trailer in order to afford a bigger size that we need. We, of course, plan to provide all the necessities for our children, and only stay in safe parks. We hope by staying a month at a time, to save money as well. My friend assures me we’ll be on. But, I’ve seen the system as a past foster to adopted kid, and making a bad move terrifies me. I am confident we won’t do anything g wrong, but that hasn’t stopped kids that land wrongly in the system.
Thank you!September 17, 2016 at 5:40 pm #1886PippiKeymasterHi Fwlady, I know a LOT of people living in their RVs and trailers with entire families. It’s totally doable. Don’t worry. You’ll meet others like you too! 😀
Happy trails!
