My black tank is showing 1/2 full, I have back flushed, filled by measure to 1/2 full drained, then back flush again. Help please, I am in a 2011 Passport Express.

    Thanks ahead of time.

Kalait, one thing to check is that your in-tank sensor is not fouled by remaining materials in the tank such as toilet paper getting hung up on the hardware inside the tank. If you can, insert a wand style high pressure spray head into the toilet and direct it toward the sensors if you can find where they are located. You can make a wand with some simple pvc parts from the hardware plumbing department. Drill tiny holes for the “nozzles”.

Next I would look for loose connections or torn wires underneath from road debris.

I do not know about your specific MH but your sensor system may have self-diagnostics. Read the manual if you have one or go online to the maker of the sensor system and see if they have diagnostics for their system available. Check for youtube videos with your same issue and you may get some more details about your system. Good luck.

I use the GEO Method to maintain my tanks with the exception that I don’t use bleach. I put a capful of cheap liquid detergent (Sun) and a capful of liquid Calgon water softener along with five gallons of water after I drain and flush. Then drive to the next campsite to let it swish around. My sensors are accurate about 90% of the time since I started doing this.

Also, if I know that it will be sitting for a month or so, I’ll fill the tanks with water and use an enzyme product (Pure Power, Rid-X, RV Digest-It) to let the critters eat the stuff of the sides of my tanks and sensors, and dump before I head out again.

Very good idea! (Why didn’t I think of that???)
