Nothing cute about little furry rodents in your coach. Most parks encourage nice folks to have bird feeders and they do. Mother nature tells mama mouse to have 14 babies instead of 4 as the store bought seed is high in nutrition. So where do they go..?? Inside your home!!!! Victor traps with peanut butter are the best. Home Depot and Lowes sell a knock off brand that are no good. My wife orders on Amazon with free next day shipping. A mouse can pass through a hole the size of a straw, and a rat can pass through a dime size hole. Prevent entry with spray foam( I advised elsewhere here)it will expand and block their entry. Before activating the can of foam identify each spot with a piece of painters tape. That can will plug up in a few minutes so you have to use the entire thing once you spray.
Hanta virus is very serious, spray everything with bleach. Lastly…. for the few folks who will not use a Victor trap for these devils spawn, Ivory soap flakes attracts them and they get sick and will not return anywhere they smell that odor. Sprinkle in cabinets and outside storage areas.
Quartzite is Mouse central!!!!! Shut your screen door. Cook that bacon outside!!!October 23, 2015 at 11:18 am #1277PippiKeymasterCertainly not cute in any way! In fact I was watching a supposedly ‘cute’ hedgehog video on Facebook the other day and couldn’t see the cuteness for recognition of its rodent-like features which brings out the mouse-hate in me.
The ivory soap is an interesting technique. I’ve heard of the spray foam but hadn’t yet heard that you have to use the whole can right away. Makes sense though! Great advice.
For anyone else reading that might have not heard this technique, using steel wool is another trick to plug up holes. Peppermint also acts as a deterrent fragrance, however you have to keep spraying it to work long term. They make little pouches designed for this you can buy and stuff in cabinets but I found the smells go away after a few months.

It expands and sets up in the delivery tube as well as trigger assembly so about 10 minutes is all you have. Some folks try to clean the can with MEK but this is very bad to work with.
The same mix is used to seal off old mine shafts and abandoned water wells. They mix in 5 gallon buckets and pour around the top of the hole. Within a few minutes the mix sets up and grows out of the hole. They cut the excess like a loaf of bread then cover with dirt. Great cap to prevent children from falling down old shaft.
Steel wool is better if you pull apart an SOS pad. In addition to the wire element there is the soap smelly blue stuff that rodents avoid.
I have an RV pal that uses the ” bucket of death” a 5 gallon bucket with 3 .5 gallons of water in it. cover waterline with Saran wrap and sprinkle a few seeds and peanut butter on wrap. Mr. Rodent jumps on then cannot get out of the water. -
