Roughly 1 1/2 years ago I drained my fresh water tank for a major freeze, and have never replaced the cap, during this week while in San Antonio I wanted to put some fresh water in the tank for bathroom needs on relocation home. Trying to test the drain the tank will not drain, I will be draining all the lines on the way home and sanitizing the tank after I can drain it at home. Any suggestions?

Sounds like some debris made its way in there over the year and a half without the cap on. Perhaps you could try putting a little bit of water in there, like a centimeter’s worth and drive around to slosh the water about and hopefully remove some of the debris that’s caught over the drain.

If it’s silt or dirt that’s on the bottom, adding more water would help dilute the mud to assist in draining more of the sediment.

    Best of luck!

I was able to work with the drain on the fresh water tank, using a 1/4 inch grabber tool I was able to move some nesting matter, however I have not been able to get the blockage completely out at this time.

Thanks for all your assistance and help in advance.

I brought the trailer home last month for a trip, filled the fresh water tank to full and drained it, using some mild persuasion from the exit side of the drain dislodging the insect nest. Now the tank drains great.

Advice keep small wire which will fit into the drain tube doubled, as pressure builds while filling your tank, work the wire into the tube dislodging the debris allowing for it to be pushed out.
