I have been looking at alternative living. I have fell in love with the idea of reducing my carbon footprint and energy. I am graduating college in 1-2 years and I am considering of buying an RV instead of renting an apartment. I want to have freedom and I want to own a house. However, I don’t want to be anchored in one location my whole life.
I am concerned with the practicality of living in a RV. I was wondering if it is a lifestyle that I could actually live? I have been bouncing around other RV forums. People have been saying that living full time in a RV can be cheap. However, it can get expensive very quickly. I currently live in Maryland and they also brought up that RV’s aren’t really made for colder conditions. I was wondering of how people face the elements of nature while living in a RV? I have about $2,000 saved up!!

You’ll probably want to change your oil (because you need to run the engine regularly even if parked), make repairs as needed for example if you find a leak has arisen…
As a renter, the owner takes care of all the organizing of repair folk and associated costs but when you own, you’re the one doing so. But I still think it comes out way cheaper, more rewarding plus it’s yours.
As far as the weather, check out this thread on this forum where several folks are discussing the idea of RV living in colder climates.
Best of luck and keep saving!
