I started my plan to go nomadic letting August 2018. At that time, I was giving myself 12 months to get ready. Being ready, included purchase my RV, and my tow vehicle as well. Buying used and being as frugal as possible yet, making sure I have all the important necessities to make it as trouble free as possible.

In a few days, I will have reached my one year mark of wanting to leave California. Interestingly enough, I still have much to accomplish before my exodus. I have my tow vehicle and my RV paid for completely and well into many renovations to get it the way I want. I still have solar new tires all the way around and a full complete tuneup on my toe vehicle. Approximately an additional five to $7000 before my home and vehicle are ready for the trip. Once those final components are purchased and installed, then my savings towards my Safetynet will begin. I don’t have retirement 401(k) or any other type of accruing savings to subsidize my adventure. I do have tremendous skills and light on my feet.
I’m going solo, only one mouth to feed and overhead will be as minimal as possible. I watch and read many of the YouTube channels on RV living and feel that now after six months living in my RV full-time I have a pretty good understanding of life and 400 ft.² or less. The big challenge, comes when I hit the road.
I have a 33 foot keystone cougar Toy Hauler, and a dodge ram 3500 Cummins turbo diesel.
Looking forward to reading people‘s comments and experiences to gain more knowledge, wisdom, and strategy towards making this a successful adventure.
