Hi all!,
My name is Kevin and I live in downtown Chicago with my dog Sadie. I own a unique business called GigRig Inc. (www.gigrigchicago.com) which supplies RV’s and custom production vehicles to the film and entertainment industry. Although I’m based in Chicago I do travel to anywhere the industry that may need my services. I get to work behind the scenes of movies, commericals, photo shoots, and live concerts with very famous people. Not a bad gig!
I do enjoy the luxury of taking my vehicles on personal journeys around the country and have spent a fair amount of time in Florida for the winter months. Yes I hate the bitter cold winters in Chicago!!
Everyone always asks, where do I park all these vehicles in Chicago? The answer is a
very large garage that’s actually a movie studio 5 miles west of downtown. 5 minutes from my home without traffic. (20 minutes with)Currently the fleet consists of:
2 40 foot diesel toy haulers (fun movers) 2003 and 2006
2 45 foot luxury diesel pushers I call (Land Yachts) 2009 and 2010
2 40 foot custom diesel production offices 1989 and 1990
1 40 foot custom fifth wheel production trailer pulled by a custom 2012 F550 dully
1 28 foot coachman leprechaun c class
1 26 foot winnebago brave circa 1975
1 33 foot coachman fifth wheel 1999For the past 15 years I have been wrenching on my own vehicles for the most part except for major mechanical issues. I’ve learned a ton but there is always more to learn.
I enjoy meeting people and sharing my city with new RV friends. If you find yourself passing through Chicago and need a place to stop for a couple of days, I may be able to accomidate you with power, water and dumping. My property is not a campground and I don’t rent out sites. I just like to help people in need.
I look forward to possibly meeting some of you and thank you Pippi for setting up this site! I enjoy your instructional videos and appreciate your enthusiasm for life!
Happy Trails,
Kevin

Are you working with any movies in production right now?
You know what would be a cool video…a video about your biz, some tours of the fleet and shots of behind the scenes stuff!
Thanks for sharing and introducing yourself and cool business.

My C class that I call “little Rig” was recently used in a movie called “Who Gets The Dog” with Ryan Kwanten and Alicia Silverstone. In the film the main characters seperate and he lives in his fathers RV. We shot in the winter and on the first day of filming a huge show storm rolled in. NOT FUN!!. The vintage Winnebago has also been in a few tv shows here in Chicago.
Right now is slow season for me. Not many productions want to shoot in Chicago’s frigid conditions. The bigger televison shows and movies which film all year round are union. I only work on the non-union shows. Occasionally they’ll bring in one of my star coaches “Land Yachts” for a few days when needed.
I keep waiting for a reality show to come knocking at my door about the behind the sceenes antics of production RV life but nothing yet… LOL!! I’ll do a video if you’ll produce it! Ever been to Chicago Pippi?
January 19, 2017 at 11:05 am #2167PippiKeymasterI’ve spent 8 hours on a layover in Chicago. I’m not a fan of big cities. But if I’m ever there and you’ve got something in the works, we should do a video!

Chicago is worth the visit but only in the summer!. 😉
