Hi Pippi and RV Living forum Members. My name is Simon and I live in Adelaide, Australia.

Over the past year I have been working on an old 1973 Freighter Bus I bought as an unfinished project for $2000. It was partly fitted out but has required a lot of work to get it to where I wanted it to be. Your videos and the info from and Australian couple who have a similar bus to mine have been invaluable.

As a result of all that work a mate of mine and I decided to travel over to Coffin Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, a 1700km round trip for my birthday in October just gone. Along the way I filmed the journey using a quadcopter/drone I built from scratch and a time lapse rig I put together.

The footage was half decent so I’ve compiled it into a short video I though the RV forum might like to see, shows a bit of Australia that you don’t get to come across doing the touristy thing. A lot of dirt tracks and off roading required to get to the areas in the video, but totally worth it.

The soundtrack is performed by a local Adelaide group called the Hilltop Hoods, and features and Adelaide girl, I think you have heard of her in the states, goes by the name Sia.

Thanks for all your video uploads, the tips you provide have come in very handy. Hope you and Andiamo are well, you will spot my two dogs Lilly and Roxy (Kelpies) throughout the clip also.

    Many thanks, Simon

Simon – I’m from Melbourne but living in the USA. Funnily enough my Dad was the Chief Engineer for Freighter in 70’s and 80’s – interesting to see buses from that era. Ray
