Honda EU 2000 Generator—The best and I have tried them all. While setting up home for a week at Slab city USA I was bummed to hear Chinese made Gennys screaming like a dying T Rex. I noticed a nearby camper in a trillion dollar road coach(Newell 48) really a 1.2 million dollar coach and he has this little Honda EU 2000 Genny. He reports that it powers everything except the AC, which is not needed in the winter. He did not want to use his Diesel Genny as it is worth more with lower hours. I bought 2 EUs and the parallel wire which makes enough juice to power AC. These things purr like a kitten, a pint of 87 octane will run for hours and they are bullet proof. On snowy nights (bedtime at 9PM) when I am running the heater fan I put a 2 quarts of fuel and it will run out around 4AM, perfect timing, and I wake up warm in total silence!!!!

In addition to it being field tested and time proven in Slab City, I can also attest to its durability and economy as it has survived 4 Burning Mans and has only needed adjustments to the choke to allow for high altitude. I use my two in parallel for a total of 4000 watts, more than enough to power my A/C in the hot playa of the Black Rock Desert. And it IS the quietest in it’s class. 1 gal. of fuel at economy idle (the governor will increase idle with the load) will last about 7 hours. Can’t beat it with a stick. 😉

Here’s a link to practical preppers instruction on this affordable conversion. Scott explains the benefits etc . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roKxsfb34PMMay 6, 2016 at 10:05 pm #1632scootertrashParticipantThinking it would be better to purchase a propane Genny from Honda. Propane is very hot and they do not last as long as Gas. I switch off when only using one, marking with post it note” rest” and ” use next”. Never ha d an issue after 6-9 months of sitting, no gum up etc…
