Howdy you all: I went to the rv show Feb 2017 in jax fl and looked around I got to see inside trailed I never seen before and saw new brands as well I didn’t know about. Here is what I like,But they need to up there 3 tanks and make the trailer bigger I would like for sure, but they don’t, so what to do.
RETRO by riverside rv nice 50 style as well gulf stream vintage cruiser and forest river rpod series I would like these but they don’t have what I looking for. I had some sale people
Asked what I wanted in a trailer and ran some sales people off.I also had issue trying to get some information at the show they would either devert you of the question or would not tell you and you could see it in the sale people face expression and
Because of this now I’m looking into buildingl my own trailer from scratch.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can go for detailed
Information on trailers without calling the factory I have a
Hard time getting information out of them.

Thank you guys for any ideas you have.

    Have a great day jeff

Hi Jeff, as far as recalls, you may want to find the trailer you like and then resdearch it on Google specifically. Also, some products inside the trailers may have recalls. I’ve heard several Dometic fridges have had recalls for example. If you build it yourself though, you can easily search every product you get to find the best.

It sounds like you like some trailers but they don’t have everything you want. What are some of those harder to find aspects you’re looking for?

Hi pippi:I been looking on the site for equipment issue and
Coming up blank on that subject.

I been looking into a cargo trailer to make my own travel trailer What a allot of research.

But what’s been neat about it I found a microwave (700 watt) and refrigerator ( 50 watt range ) so I have had good luck finding low wattage equipment,But always looking for better.

I like some trailers but I found if I make changes to them
They will not give me a trade in or give me hardly any
Money for the unit due to the changes I made.

What I’m looking for length/size to The weight of the
Trailer, also places for my 3 cats, food dishes, potty box,
Perch which allot of rv are not cat friendly.
Also I have issue with all 3 tank sizes, fresh I want
    200 gal,black 80 gal,grey 90 gal.

I want to go off grid for awhile if need be.

There more to talk about but I be writing a story.

Thanks for the information take care Jeff

    P.s. how’s your new baby ( woof woof )

If you’re hoping to trade it in later, it sounds that this may not be a long term plan for you. If it’s not a long term plan, then I don’t recommend spending the time and money building your own. I would also only recommend building your own if that project sounds exhilarating to you.

It sounds like your adjustments are for your cats and they wouldn’t need to be permanent changes. Or maybe you find someone with cats to buy it after you.

Also your desired tank sizes are about 2-4 times the normal sizes. If you built your own, you could do it. But to stay off grid long enough to create 80 gallons of black waste, you’ll have ran your batteries and generator gas dry unless you’re planning on solar. Also, to need a black tank so big, your RV is going to reek to high heavens, unless you’ll be in freezing temps. Keep in mind the weight of 200 gallons of water too and how that’ll impact your vehicle.

Best of luck with your endeavors, Jeff. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do what you want.

    Hi pippi:

My permant home will be a trailer!

When I was looking into rv,t.t.,t.h,I found if you tamper
With the original setup from factory and you decide to trade
In later you would not get much for it.

Then I said well that’s not good then I found people with
Issues on some of these trailers and rv and long list
I found I did not like on this stuff.

Now I said I’m not going to deal with these problem
That other people have with rv and trailers.

So now im going to build my own tavel trailer
and make it cat friendly but also make it where you
    Can replace,tanks,wires,cable without straining and
Fighting to get a project done.

My trailer will be user friendly

I will also be solar powered as well.

The reason for larger tanks is so if I go off grid
Or out in the stick I will be ready for long term use.

Instead of constant dump or refilling water all the time

I will be prepare for bad weather and power outage.

I’m working out the details of building my own
    Trailer at this time.

Thanks for the information and reply

Take care you two, cant wait for more great videos

    jeff
