I’m trying to figure out how to add my amp Lithium battery to my existing house lead battery bank system.
I think it’ll require two separate charging systems. I plan to use my 6 solar panels to charge the lithium with an inverter to run the 110v items, and use the house batteries to run the 12 volt systems. The house batteries can be Maintained/charged by A 110v charger and in case of a long storm lasting Several Days, the house batteries can run the inverter too, as well as start the generator if needed. Then the lithium charger would run bringing everything up to maximum.
The only connection between the two types of batteries is through the chargers. The lead acid batteries would be charged by the Solar charge controller, and inverter and charger method. As well as by the Alternator when driving, and the generator if needed. The lithium will be charged by the Solar charge controller directly. A small 12 volt inverter will run a charger for the Lithium By plan is to use a two way switch to make sure the two types of battery banks never connect directly.
thoughts anybody?
