Hi. What do people think about buying an RV that has delamination ? Walk away? It’s around the window area so most likely due to water intrusion (Big word) any advice would be truly appreciated. I’m mechanically inclined but a real newbie to RV’s.

Hi Ken, this sounds a little sketchy to me. However, I’d add that it would totally depend on the price.

Is the delamination around all the windows or just one? Does it look like it was from multiple instances or maybe just from the window open once during a storm? I hope some of this helps.

Best of luck and happy trails 🙂

I agree with Pippi. The price should reflect any water damage. However, if you pull the trigger on the purchase you might just need a new window gasket. It takes two people to fix. Its a sandwich set up with the gasket on the outside flange. One person stands inside and takes out the screws around the inside window flange. The other person stands outside and slides the window out once the screws are out. You should be able to get a new gasket from the motorhome manufacturer. If not get some liquid gasket. Clean the old gasket off of the inside of the outside flange and position the new gasket where the old one was. If using liquid gasket apply it to the area where the old gasket was. Now slide the window back into the wall so it seats against the inside flange that your helper is holding. Have that friend rescrew the window together snuggley to make a good seal. If liquid gasket was used than wipe up any that squished outside with a damp rag. Leak fixed:)
