Hi Pippi and other followers of Pippenings
I’ve watched your youtube channel for a few years and it was initially fact-finding when I was looking to by a 5th wheel. But then got hooked by your personality and just enjoyed the updates.
The reason why I’ve finally got around to saying hello is your recent post regarding finding the right plot as a temporary or permanent base.
And a reason I had for buying a 5th wheel was initially as accommodation while on natural builds (cob, straw bale construction etc) but then to head down to Italy (2017) and use as a static base while restoring/rebuilding a dwelling on the Adriatic coast.
In the end, the building I helped my friend buy, didn’t need massive structural work, so I was able to live in the property.
I’m back in the UK at the moment but heading back to Molise in Italy as soon as I can. I thought the reason may be of interest to you Pippi as you have lived in Italy in the past. And that is small plots of land and buildings in a decent state of repair can be bought very reasonably in Abruzzo and Molise. I’m currently trying to buy a 2 bedroom farmhouse with a barn and outbuildings on about 1/2 acre of land for €30k plus €5k fees and taxes. The farmhouse is perfectly habitable and fully furnished and the barn is in good order. The land is very productive as its near the coast and there are usually a few olive, walnut, fig, apple and persimmon trees. There are similar properties in the area with land for similar prices. Its very rural, people are very friendly and its super easy to get things to grow. Or you can buy fresh produce at low prices – €1 per kg (apples, nectarines, aubergines etc). Wine and other essentials are very reasonably priced too.
Anyhow, I just thought I’d flag this up in case you fancy another adventure and you have some experience of Italy.
Very best wishes for everything you do and I hope you have a healthy and happy 2020
    Doug
