We (my wife and I) are planning to RV for a month or three this summer – trying out the lifestyle. One piece that I wonder about is our dog Hunter (a German wire hair pointer): How well will he adapt? Do many RV parks allow dogs outside unattended (on dog run or in portable kennel)?
Hunter seems to be about the same size as Adiano (sp?) at 40lbs and lean and long legged. How do you get along Pippi? Are most parks friendly towards dogs? I noted many in my searches stating no dogs outdoors unattended – I wonder if this includes in a large portable kennel 4x8ft? …or with a leashed dog run of 25ft?
I do now know to watch out for gas leaks from your video! More on how RV life with a dog works, problems, benefits, tips & tricks, would be great!
Thanks,

Yes, a lot of dog parks won’t let them be unattended outside. Not all have or enforce this rule though. Especially those with longer term residents. However, if you’re regularly travelling around and in unfamiliar territories, would YOU want to leave him unattended outside? I wouldn’t.
I suggest calling where you plan to stay to see if they’ll allow your specific set up. They might allow it even if the website says no. I recommend calling anyway even if they’re website says no about anything, not just dogs.
Best of luck and most importantly, have a great time! 😀

We have a 36′ class A so there’s plenty of room to play with their toys and they really enjoy sitting in the passengers seat and watch where we are going. I reserve our RV Parks before we head out and stay in pet friendly parks. None will let your pup run loose, or remain outside off the leash and unattended. Most all have enclosed dog runs. Enjoy your trip and let your furry child go with you. He’ll have a great time. (If he tends to gt car sick, or is over anxious a little Benadryl will help him until he settles in. 25mg per 20 pounds.
