Hi
Before I make to many plans about living in a RV, I guess I should try it out in a smaller scale first. I have been on vacation in a trailer/camper as a child, and then I have been doing some outdoor/backpacking travel with my home on my back, but that is very different, lol.
How did you get started, did you test it or did you just jump into it?Currently I live in Denmark, but RV is expensive and most rent autocampers are made for families for a small/car driver license. I am just me and although it is very old I do have a license for class C (I think it is standard around the world?), though I am not looking for an expensive very large luxury RV either for this try out event.
Do someone have any clues where I can rent a RV for trusted places. Is there a site for private RV rents?
It could be nearby countries like Sweden, Norway, Germany, UK…What are the main things to check when renting an RV?

November 23, 2016 at 10:59 am #2083PippiKeymasterHi Mikael, most folks on this site are located in the US. Did you find an RV to rent? Are you planning to rent an RV to live in full time, like an apartment?
I’d love to hear what you found out about renting in Europe.
Best of luck and happy trails!

In relation to the other thread on RV size, its hard/impossible to find really large RV/motorhome for rent around here. We use the word “autocamper” and most of them are a bit smaller than the large motorhomes I have seen in the US. The luxury brand in EU or a least in Denmark is Concorde from German, they do nice EU modern interior and have some large very expensive autocampers, but compare to US I don’t think they are particular impressive, though perhaps better at isolation for the cold weather…
BTW for renting most of them are made for family holidays, with lots of beds for kids etc., not what I am looking for.
I am just planning to rent a RV to get the hang of it, see how a winter would be. Renting permanent would not make sense around here, way too expensive. I haven’t found any leasing options.
There is no rush, its a long term project, perhaps first when I get old(er).- This reply was modified 7 years, 12 months ago by Mikael.
