    HI Pippi
I am considering selling my house and buying a travel trailer to live in full time now that my kids are all grown up. I would be staying put for the next 5 or 6 years except for summer when I am off work (teacher schedule). I have been doing tons of research and have really enjoyed your videos and great tips. Do you happen to have any brand suggestions and brands to stay away from? I have heard good things about Forest River and not so good things about Dutchmen. Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Mimi

Mimi Maness, Dutchmen before 2006 are well built, before the company was sold. They also build Komfort, which is well loved.

Any older models, of course, will need to be leak-proofed (roof maintenance), and possibly gutted and repaired (depending on water damage).

Also, RV fridges, water pumps, and hot water heaters are among the first to need replaced. You’re lucky if they last five years.

Hi Mimi, sounds like a great adventure and plan! I really don’t have any brand suggestions. Just make sure you look at each of them so you find the features you like and decide you want. Some have four season features which are a little more insulated, some don’t. Others have newer styles windows. Just do your research and definitely go see everything in person. Best of luck!
