Here are some of my pros and cons, what are some that you would add?

Along the lines of pros and cons, I was wondering if moving to an RV would make getting a loan next to impossible. Let’s say I am making a decent income from the road, and I want to finance another vehicle (car or RV). As soon as I tell the loan officer I live in an RV, isn’t that as good as telling him/her that I am homeless? Banks like stability which seems to fly in the face of living on the road. Can anyone tell me stories of their banking encounters?

You will get NOWHERE in ANY loan department!!!!! Use a pals address, parents, etc….also, many computer systems will flag an address. My wife was a loan officer at a hospital and when folks used the VA as their address they would get caught.

Post Offices now use “Unit” numbers instead of P.O.Box numbers. A lot of places have issues with sending to a PO Box but not with the new Unit numbers.

from the numerous credit unions and Rv dealer I’ve spoken too about a loan, never say the words full time Rv. it will make more trouble for yourself. use a family members address.

I thought that might be the case. I have no other family that I can use an address from. I guess I had better get all of my ducks in a row before I make a move to full-time.

    Thanks for the replys.

    Hello Pippi,

You have a great attitude. I loved watching a few of your videos. I have a few questions out of curiosity if you don’t mind me asking. How long have you been living in your recreational vehicle? How do you make financial ends meet? Who’s your camera guy when making videos?

I’ve been really considering purchasing a recreational vehicle and living out in the western part of the US. I own a home now and I’ve been searching for another home to buy in a few different locations including Denver, Co, California and Nevada. I’m wanting to relocate where the climate is better than where I’m living now. If you’d like google the word “Sperling” and click on “top lists” You can search all of the states or only choose one to view the differences between economy, climate, cost of living, crime rates, etc. Climate is very important to me the comfort index being pleasant.

I’m happy to have found your website. This looks like a great place to learn the in’s and out’s of rv living. Your happy go-lucky demeanor and your passion for what you believe in is what attracted me to join your forum. I found your videos I’ve watched to be very informative and pleasant to watch.

    Thank you,

btw, I had to join twice. I preferred my other screen name “Boogalu” but after I joined it would not let me reset my password. Each time I tried I would get a blank email that had instructions but no link to change my password. Not a big deal, I’ll just be XBlingman.

Hi XBlingman, the fall of 2016 will mark three years in my RV. I did a video about making money in your RV. You can check it out here:

And, I’ve had several different people help me with the camera but I usually use a tripod.

To learn more about working from your RV check out these topics on this site.

I hear you on climate being important; it is to me too. Best of luck with your relocation and endeavors! 🙂

I write how I speak so please excuse my grammar. I just watched your video, mad respect for how independent you are. I’m self made as well so I can relate with you. Anyone can succeed on their own as long as they do not quit or give up.

My mother owned an industrial cleaning business so I grew up learning all about it. Just an idea but have you ever considered washing windows for extra cash? Your investment would be very minimal. To start all you would require is a couple five gallon buckets, a couple natural sea sponges, a cloth shammy, some super fine steel wool, a straight edge with a couple razor blades, a couple different size squeegees, a small step ladder or similar, and the product. Charge by the window. There will always be a need.

There is a product called “TSP” It is very inexpensive and it goes a long way. You can buy it in bulk and it will last you forever. Google tsp cleaning solution – you want the powder form. For example when cleaning windows a small handful in a five gallon bucket would be enough to wash every window in a 1400 square foot house. It leaves windows streak free. You can use this product on just about anything. The stronger you mix it the more aggressive it becomes. For example you can wash greasy walls in a kitchen with it before painting etc. It’s mild on your hands unless you are allergic.

Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any. I’m writing you a book here. It takes me a long time to type. Anyway I have other questions but I’ll wait to ask them later as I become more accustomed to your website. I will say I am grateful to have found a place to communicate about rv living. I long for peace in my life. I do not have that now nor will anyone ever give it to me as long as they have access lol. I can dream though.

Pros and Cons, to get back on topic. 🙂

Pros, no noisy neighbours over, under or beside you. And if you do get any, you can easily move.

Cons, the black water tank. I’m planning on installing a composting toilet, then thoroughly cleaning out the black tank and turning it into Grey 2. Then I can make a grey water irrigation system for my garden. Once I buy the land, of course.

    Jon
