    Hi all,
My Travel Trailer which is a 2013 Heartland 3150DS, started having issues with the power over the weekend. It is connected to shore power. While watching the TV, with the A/C running the power seemed to go out, yet the light showing power to the tv stayed lit up. After a minute or so, all power came back up. I then started noticing a burning smell coming from the back portion of the trailer. I can hear the converter running, but the fridge light is showing both gas and electric. Gas is turned off.
I cleaned the A/C very well both the fins behind the filter and on the roof. A/C keeps tripping the breaker. All power is off at the breaker box now.
Any thoughts? Other than pulling the panel to get the model of the converter.

    Thank you,
    Trevor

Electrical problems in an RV can be quite serious. If you smell burning coming from inside the RV grab the fire extinguisher because something is burning. Make your way outside quickly to disconnect from shore power. You must resolve this problem before reconnecting to shore power as your personal safety is paramount, which of course you seem to have taken these precautions.

There are several reasons why an A/C could blow breakers and indeed breakers are not generally meant to be reset like light switches. Consider replacing the breaker. You are well advised to get an A/C service tech involved since the risk to life and property hang in the balance.

Please keep us posted on how you resolve this issue as I am sure many will be curious. Remember be extra safe when working around electrical components and “look out your power” if you will be working on any energized components. Keep a fire extinguisher within easy reach.

    Be safe.
