I was ready to purchase a traditional RV and hit the open road when my 3 beautiful grand daughters were met with unfortunate circumstances. I made a decision to put my dreams on hold and make a home for the girls to ensure that they grew up together. As they most definitely should. Child services were going to split them up and put the baby into the adoption system. They had lost too much already and it just didn’t seem right that they lose each other as well. It was a hard fought battle because they really wanted that baby. The stress that it caused these the two older girls was unforgivable from people that are supposed to protect their little spirits. Fast forwarding a couple of years, they are happy, healthy, settled with me and TOGETHER. As they should be. I still have that bug and I think it’s contagious as the girls are very excited about a year of travel. After all they have been through they absolutely deserve to see the world again with fresh eyes and have their little spirits renewed. I chose to purchase a 28 foot traditional BlueBird, year 2000. It is also a duel fuel. Gas injected and propane run. Most school buses we see are 40 feet or the short bus. I chose this one because I couldn’t envision myself parking a 40 foot bus…LOL…and the “short bus” just wasn’t enough. I also chose the bus option so that I could customize it to meet the needs of these 3 little girls. After looking at a ton of RV’s, I couldn’t find one that would allow the teen ager a bit of privacy and still allow the other two separate sleeping quarters, unless I went really big. And again, I couldn’t envision myself parking it…LOL…I wanted it to be a little home on wheels but still want to be able to access RV parks for safety reasons. On my own I would park it anywhere, but with 3 youngsters its nice to have a pool or activities and the safety of others around. My question is… How difficult will it be to park my bus at most RV parks? I am learning that there are restrictions etc… It is not shabby looking and will be freshly painted. It has a raised roof professionally done etc… but I am worried now about the year of the bus being too old as I understand some places will only take newer RV’s. Thank you so much to anyone that can help me with some guidance or info in regards to my concerns…and happy travels to all, because after all, It’s A Wander-FULL Life indeed!

Family Moter Couch Association (FMCA) this group was originally started for owners of converting buses into RV’s. I’m sure you will find lots of great information from this group.
