First, thanks for your informative and entertaining videos!

I am considering a used 1997 to 2000 fleetwood bounder in the 34′ range. It will be my wife and myself generally for short trips during the summer months.

It seems that slides became an option after 1999 or so. So I have two questions. First, is a slide a “must have” item? Is the extra room worth any maintenence issues associated with an older unit? This leads me to my second question…what are the maintenance issues with older slides and is there extra wind noise created when driving at highway speeds?

    Thanks for any comments!

    hello,
I have a 2004 Damon intruder with duel slides. I really like the open space it provides.
I don’t hear any wind noises coming from the slide. My large slide did hang up on me causing damage at the top where the topper awning attached . the topper awning roller mechanism hung up when extending the slide out and pulled out the screws. Slides are very helpful if you are staying at campsites for extended durations. especially if you have a family to accommodate. I hope you find this helpful good luck in your Rving experience .
