So I had to stop and take one last look at the Kern River before rolling back to So.Cal. Spent the day at circle park. I flushed the gray tank an hour prior and noticed the valve was opened so I shut it and left. The next day I was setting up camp at Bolsa Chica Beach and I heard banging under the trailer. Didnt stop. Strange. Finally cornered it to the tank and after opening the valve I was greeted by a very wet but very large, angry gray squirrel. Out he came, quickly, and under a trash dumpster he went.
Moral of this story, do not let your gray tank dry in an area that is loaded with squirrels. Luckily this campground is year round and has friendly souls because Mr. Squirrel is still there a year in camp and is eating quite well. You will see many little chipmunks but only one monster gray.

Ahh, hilarious. Poor guy, nice to add some adventure to his life, though!

6 months later!!! Mr. RiverKern gray dude still at Bolsa Chica beach.(10 21 2015) Thinking now I need to find him a gray chickie. He is eating well, very tame, and cared for by the long tern RVers.
