Greetings, Gang-
I’m excited to officially embark on my full-time RV living journey! After much fun time & effort searching for my first Class A, I finally pulled the trigger yesterday on a 2000 vintage Fleetwood Storm 30H on the Ford V10 chassis.
I’m in SW Florida, and will be departing for AZ mid September. I would like to spend Oct-April in the Mesa or Chandler areas. I will be operating a seasonal weekend business at the Mesa Market Place, so I’d like to be within 25 minutes max of that facility (east Mesa).
I’m a single 51 year-old, with no pets. I am currently studying to obtain my Personal Trainer Certification, and hope to utilize that during my wanderings. Fitness & well being are high among my personal passions. So, an RV park, which has a fitness facility, or is not too far from a gym- would be preferred.
For those who have lived in some of the Mesa/Chandler RV parks, are there any that jump out as being better than others? My “wish list” would include… Shade site, not too many kids running around (I know, I know), swimming pool, ability to perform routine maintenance on the RV, happy neighbors! Also, I would prefer to stay under $600 for monthly rent.
Many thanks in advance for your replies!!

There are so many to chose from. East Mesa was my old stomping grounds.

I’m currently staying at a place recommended by some full-time rv friends from Seattle… it’s called Sunset RV Resort on East Main St, near the 202. It’s an old 1970’s era dilapidated RV park, but with lots of character! I was definitely concerned when I first pulled-in, as this was my first experience with an rv park; however, it’s turned out to be perfectly fine. My neighbors are a seasonal couple from Bangor, ME and real sweet. The park has definitely seen better days, but it’s safe and real cheap… only $370/month!! As you know, there are lots of RV parks in Mesa… so, I’m exploring all those as well. Looking forward to hearing about your plans for the 2018!! If you end up back through Mesa, reach out! I’ve also started a youtube channel to chronicle some of the adventure:) All the best! Ty
December 15, 2017 at 11:59 am #2704PippiKeymasterI know exactly where that is. There are many of those older style MH parks in the area. I stayed at one just a few blocks down called Maverick which I don’t recommend.
Good luck on your stay there, I’m missing the area just thinking about it but excited to be out and about still.
If you haven’t yet, head up one block east to Ellsworth then take that north for great sunset opps and maybe even some wild horses!
Happy trails!

I actually have been up Elsworth, and you’re spot-on… the sunsets are magnifico! I am also LOVING the Sup’s! Great hiking and lots of gold yet to be found!
East Mesa & AJ, are turning out to be quite entertaining… I like the quirkiness of the place, and the mom & pop businesses are a real plus.
Happy Trails to you too!
