Since my mh sits more than runs down the highway (much to my chagrin), i found the vinyl tire covers did’t seem to protect the tires like I thought they should. The vinyl absorbs the heat and heats the tires up. Being a handyman, I got some fibreboad siding from Home Depot and cut out tire covers just an inch or two larger than the wheel well. Use your imagination on how to hold them to the opening. For mine I used either 1/8th or 1/4 inch threaded rod about a foot long which I bent a large hook on one end. Drill a hole thru the panel in the upper part so the rod can be pushed thru and catch the inside of the wheel well. Then poke the rod thru. On the outside I used a washer and a wing nut. To use the rod, hold the rod and hook it up inside the wheel well and tighten up the wing nut. Once they’re installed. You do have 4 projectiles about knee high around the motorhome. For mine i put small pieces of rubber tubing on the ends to save the scrapes and bruises. There is probably a better way to hold them in place. But they’re easy for me to remove and go, and they keep the sun and heat off my tires.
