Comp FxrParticipantWinter RV ing depending on temperature is a tough nut to crack. Typically RV’s are not designed to winter in. Summer Fun is what most RV’s are designed for. With that said there are winter models out there somewhere. My plan is to redo all the plumbing in my 5th wheel to handle the cold weather. I am starting on it this summer. I will pull all the copper pipe out and replace all lines with pex and heat tapes. so you have options when the “Big Freeze” happens. I bought a house once cheap and did not need to heat that monster so set up just a bedroom and bathroom that was heated. Some houses this can be done with and some situations no…Depends on condensation levels in the house and type of roof and other factors if it has a basement and so on.
I was watching a canadian couple on youtube living in their van and they were dealing with condensation because they had on of those fiberglass tops on the van and it was not insulated so condensation was forming making their bed wet and they were totally miserable. Just some things to think about!
Comp FxrParticipantNice story Michael, I’m in Wisconsin as well.
I am making a hot water (glycol) system that distributes the water to baseboard heat exchangers that can be purchased at most stores like Home Depot and Menards…etc
This system can be made with a old water heater or the new expensive on demand units. I am eliminating the forced air furnace in my 5th wheel and putting in a hot water heater that someone gave me. it is a LPG model and should give me some extended shower times if I am running water in it and figure in winter to run glycol so it does not freeze.
