Awstapps I too will be new to the full time RV experience. I am looking forward to it but am also concerned with the winter aspect. I have been toying with the idea of putting home insulation in the underbelly cavities as well as skirting to keep the heat in during those cold winter days/nights. Another idea I have been toying with is also getting a couple of the ceramic radiator heaters to put underneath the RV and hopefully use that to not only help keep the pipes from freezing in my 5th wheel but also to keep some heat in the RV being heat rises. The skirt would be on as well so that would help to trap the heat underneath but also provide the ability for some of the heat to vent as well. Am hoping this alternative will work in place of using the propane all the time for heat. Pippi has some great ideas that I am contemplating as well for both the winter and summer months. One last thing that I am going to attempt as well is going to the home improvement stores and asking for carpet samples (Usually is a nice size cut not just the little squares) and work to see if can get the same sample at several different places to put on the floor as well for those cold mornings. Is the cheap (free is always good) solution for the time being and hey if it looks good and can get all the same brand and fabric is even better. Hopefully my thoughts and ideas will give you some ideas as well.
