KalaitParticipant
Robert, your fresh water tank should have a drain, which will irrigate the road/gravel/or lawn under your trailer. Hope this helps.
KalaitParticipantGood luck and happy travels.
KalaitParticipantNot a problem 🙂 and to think I had a big dealer in San Antonio a major drain replacement. Both out of the question, and out of the budget.
KalaitParticipantI brought the trailer home last month (December) for a trip, filled the fresh water tank to full and drained it, using some mild persuasion from the exit side of the drain dislodging the insect nest. Now the tank drains great.
Advice keep small wire which will fit into the drain tube doubled, as pressure builds while filling your tank, work the wire into the tube dislodging the debris allowing for it to be pushed out.

KalaitParticipantI was able to work with the drain on the fresh water tank, using a 1/4 inch grabber tool I was able to move some nesting matter, however I have not been able to get the blockage completely out at this time.
Thanks for all your assistance and help in advance.
KalaitParticipantGary and Pippi, thanks for the response. I am not sure how long the tube is and no I did not know or think of replacing the tube. I currently have in the tank a fresher cleaner for the tank about 1/2 or better full. allowing this solution to soak for a few weeks before trying something more drastic.
My next try will be plastic weed wacker line, and measure how long the line is to the tank. Not sure how I can hook the air compressor in at this time, but starting to research it. Going tomorrow to ask the local RV techs their suggestions. The tank fresher/cleaner was a weekend tech’s best guess.
Again Thanks, this is the only place I have received an answer though I posted on several places.
KalaitParticipantThe rig looks great. Looking to build site so I can upload some of my pictures.
KalaitParticipantHad a great time, and yes, this is a 55 and older only part of the year. The party on New Years Eve is bring your own, booze, munchies, party favors and whatever 🙁 but had a great time. Cost only $40 per night for 4 nights, they have up to annual rentals.
KalaitParticipantAndrew,
Through some research I have done the short answer to your question is Yes. However, there is a large truckload of research you must do prior to leaving out to the -30 C spot. As I remember the rig must be undercoated with insulation to the temperature you are looking to camp in and then it must be totally waterproof. We were looking at the possibility of taking a trailer to Southern Canada in the winter. We have since changed our minds.Happy research and good luck.
KalaitParticipantQuestion about Good Sam, do they send out cards? I have never received one, still have to print out the 90 day card when ask for a membership card.
KalaitParticipantBob tanks for the Idea, and great advice. I will be stopping by the nearest truck stop and get their starting checklist, does this work for trailers as well? In case someone beats me to the store 🙂 Have to wonder in hindsight if tire pressure would have saved me a possible blowout.
KalaitParticipantJohnny,
Tried to look at your pictures however both IE and Chrome could not find the site 🙁KalaitParticipantJohnny,
Thanks for your review, looking forward to tomorrow as we leave home. Will let you know how it goes. -
