Sir Glenn HealdParticipant
is it getting fuel?
Sir Glenn HealdParticipantIdeally the solar or the grid power would be charging your batteries so that when there is no grid available you would have battery power available to your inverter for use. The generator comes in when the solar doesn’t work for what you need to run. or for when it’s too cloudy for too long and the batteries are too weak. The generator also can be used to charge the batteries using the converter, and don’t forget the vehicle battery it can use a little battery Tender to keep it charged with an exstention cord.
Sir Glenn HealdParticipantonce your sure the batteries are ok. get a small tender charger to keep the engine battery safely charged.
I run a extension cord from a outlet, and plug both my house battery converter to charge the house battery and the battery tender for the engine battery. When I park the RV the Generator, or my solar panels with the inverter, or the Pedestal of a park, provides 110v for my engine battery’s tender charger.
So the engine battery is always charging and i’m adding a strong relay to the alternator output so the house batteries can also charge when I’m Driving.Sir Glenn HealdParticipantthe only connection between the two types of batteries is through the chargers. The lead acid batteries would be charged by the Solar charge controller, and inverter and charger method. As well as by the Alternator when driving, and the generator if needed. The lithium will be charged by the Solar charge controller directly. A small 12 volt inverter will run a charger for the Lithium By plan is to use a two way switch to make sure the two types of battery banks never connect directly.
