    Also, if I know that it will be sitting for a month or so, I’ll fill the tanks with water and use an enzyme product (Pure Power, Rid-X, RV Digest-It) to let the critters eat the stuff of the sides of my tanks and sensors, and dump before I head out again.

    I use the GEO Method to maintain my tanks with the exception that I don’t use bleach. I put a capful of cheap liquid detergent (Sun) and a capful of liquid Calgon water softener along with five gallons of water after I drain and flush. Then drive to the next campsite to let it swish around. My sensors are accurate about 90% of the time since I started doing this.
